LBP are pleased to report that 23 of the 24 entries in the LBP World Cup Draw, successfully made it through the Group Stage and onto the Round of 32 Teams.
Condolences to Fizz Creations in Commerce Way who didn’t make it through the Groups, as they ended up with Iran and Tunisia who between them only managed to get 3 points on the board. Sorry Lawrence and Spencer, especially with all that you do to support local football. Best of luck next year!
The following 8 companies made it through the Groups with both their team allocations intact:

On Sunday we moved onto the Round of 32 Teams which transformed results quickly, with both Canada and Norway qualifying for the quarterfinals already. Yesterday Regency Radio gave an update on the radio during their afternoon slot and quoted that Norway is the favourite underdog of the competition, so perhaps Regency Radio has a real chance of snatching the £1,000 prize.
Currently standing in Regency Radio’s way are:
- Fine Cut with Morocco who will be facing Canada at 6pm on Saturday
- AMC Sheet Metal with Brazil who will facing Norway at 9pm on Sunday
Also through to the quarterfinals are Shoreham Vehicle Auctions with England who beat DR Congo 2-1 on Wednesday night, sending Darks Sports out of the competition.
Modern Mould Business Centre are through too with Mexico and will be facing England (Shoreham Vehicle Auctions) at the Azteca Stadium at 1am on Monday. This is Mexico’s home ground where they’ve only lost two games out of the last 88 they’ve played there, but come on England you can overcome the altitude issues and notch that record up to 3 losses! No pressure, but the nation is counting on you!
Also through to the quarterfinals is UK Pick & Pack with France and Addev/Parafix with Paraguay who will be playing off at 10pm on Saturday. RS Autos with Belgium and Scout Store with USA will also be playing off at 1am on Tuesday.
The following companies have unfortunately now been knocked out of the competition:
- Trifab with South Africa after Canada beat them one nil
- SBS Motorcycles with Germany after Paraguay beat them on penalties
- Ian Hart Funeral Services with Sweden after France put them to bed 3-0
- Greenfield Services after both Ivory Coast and Bosnia & Herzegovina lost their matches.
