Parafix Engineering Apprentice Vacancy

Parafix is a leading converter and distributor of adhesive tapes. We produce components for various market sectors including automotive, medical and electronics.

We are currently looking for an engineering apprentice to join our R&D team in working on challenging and exciting enquires.

As a member of the R&D team your main duties will include

  • - Producing drawings using CAD software (both 2D & 3D).
  • - Working on process development to produce and design the most cost effective manufacturing method.
  • - Mechanical design for fixtures and fittings.
  • - Sampling new products and working with the technical team on the presentation and application of the components.
  • - Support the engineering side of the firm in planned preventative maintenance tasks and fault finding on mechanical systems that fail.
  • - Support manufacturing in the production of finished goods and to learn about the
  • processes that go into producing a product for our customers
  • - Working with our Quality department on product/process compliance and producing all necessary documentation required.
  • - Inspection of goods from the production line.

Desired Skills

Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Good communication skills and flexibility in the working environment.

Personal Qualities

A great attitude and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications Required

5 GCSE’s with Maths Grade B or above.

Future Prospects

To achieve level 2 and level 3 Engineering Apprenticeships and become a full time member of the Research & Development team.

Additional training will be given to specific areas of work.

Annual wage

£12,500, rising over the duration of the

apprenticeship.

Working week

37.5hrs 08.00-16.00 Monday-Friday.

Qualification information

The successful candidate will be expected to complete a level 3 apprenticeship in ‘Engineering

Technical support’. The apprenticeship will take 3 years and consists of two parts; a Level 3 Btec in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering which will require you to attend college once a week on day release, and a Level 3 NVQ which will be completed at Parafix.

Full Time Drainage Operative / Groundworker Vacancy at Coastal Drains

 A full time position has arisen for a Drainage Operative/Groundworker within our Company.

Experience with drainage will be an advantage but not essential. The role will involve the use of high pressure water jetting equipment.

BASIC EXPERIENCE WITH GROUNDWORKS ESSENTIAL. We operate a 24hour 7day week emergency service which is covered on a rota basis. Good rate of pay and bonus incentive scheme offered. FULL CLEAN DRIVING LICENCE ESSENTIAL. REFERENCES REQUIRED.

Basic pay + Bonus + Overtime. Rate of pay TBA.
